Remembering 9/11
Dear Members of the A&M-San Antonio Community:
As our nation remembers the events of September 11, 2001, I hope you will pause at 8:10 a.m. on Monday morning-wherever you are, whatever you are doing-to honor those who lost their lives that day and the families that were irreparably impacted.
Our Patriot Day Ceremony on Monday will give our University an opportunity to reflect on how we-as a community-can create a more peaceful world through education, inclusivity, selfless service and the respectful exchange of ideas and beliefs. The ceremony will run from 8 to 9 a.m. at Patriots' Casa; it will include a moment of silence at 8:10 a.m. and will be followed by a blood drive in partnership with the Texas Blood and Tissue Center.
Please plan to attend this important University event as your schedule allows, and be sure to visit the 9/11 Survivor Tree that we planted last year in the Healing Garden.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Teniente-Matson
President
