Student Research Symposium

image1During a social psychology class taught in spring 2018 by Assistant Professor of Psychology Ho Phi Huynh, Ph.D., students were tasked with learning about social influence strategies. To test their knowledge with an experiential learning assignment, Dr. Huynh asked students to apply specific techniques to solicit donations for a charity of their choice. The students responded to the challenge and raised nearly $1,200 for San Antonio Pets Alive.

Following their fundraising effort, students presented their experiences to the class for a formal graded presentation. This group of students exceeded Dr. Huynh's expectations and made a positive impact in the community.
