Dr. Matson moderates "A Conversation with President Clinton"

imageOn Monday, June 11, Dr. Matson moderated "A Conversation with President Clinton" at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. Following introductions by Michael Fresher, president and CEO of the Tobin Center, Dr. Matson and President Clinton settled into two chairs on the big stage in the H-E-B Performance Hall. What followed was a lively and engaging discussion about a range of issues, from fiction writing to cyber security and education.

Dr. Matson opened the event with several questions about President Clinton's forthcoming novel, "The President Is Missing," which he co-wrote with best-selling novelist James Patterson. President Clinton explained how the collaborative project with Mr. Patterson came about as well as the approaches they used to develop plot and characters. After the two discussed the cyber-attack event on which the novel's plot hinges, President Clinton shared his thoughts about how America could begin to solve some of the educational woes facing our nation.
