Dear Members of the University Community,
Our heartfelt sympathies go out today to our sister campus, Texas A&M University-Commerce, which was profoundly impacted by the loss of life due to gun violence.
While such acts have become too frequent, each incident is beyond our comprehension and may compromise our sense of community security. At times like this, it is important to reaffirm that the safety of our campus remains the highest priority.
If you feel impacted by today’s event now or in the coming days, there are resources to assist you:
Please take a few moments today to remember our colleagues and the students at A&M-Commerce. I have reached out to A&M-Commerce President Mark Rudin to offer the support of our Jaguar family.
At times like these, we are reminded of our institutional values. Like A&M-Commerce, at the heart of our University community is a commitment to care for each other.
Warm Regards,
Cynthia Teniente-Matson
President
