How to help TAMUSA students gain a competitive advantage presented by Dr. Volkan Ozbek ~ In today's highly competitive world, employers do their best to attract and hire the best qualified job candidates. As professors, our very responsibility is to ensure that our students at TAMUSA are "well-equipped" before they are on the job market. Based on my experience, there are three pillars that students must excel in: writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. To support this very goal, we, as the instructors, can use some innovative and creative teaching methods so that our students will outperform their peers at some other institutions during their job-hunting process and after. Furthermore, we can also use some other distinct tools so that our students will "look better" on their resumes while applying for their "dream" jobs and becoming successful members of the corporate world. Thus, in this presentation, I aim to explain what we can do to help our students better themselves for their future successes.
