This flower vendor lives in
Queretaro, Mexico.

Every Thursday at about 11 am,
we would hear a knock on the door.

It was Guadalupe. She and her
10 year – old son appeared with a big smile,
and a giant array of flowers, from red
and yellow roses and daises to
exotic tropical varieties completely
unknown to me.

For $15, she would fill 5 vases,
carefully cutting each stem and
filling all the vases with fresh water.
