Mamá was harder to convince
that I take her photo than was hija.

But when I promised that
one day, her and her daughter’s
portraits would hang at a very
important place, she relented.

Thanks to Texas A&M University
and Mr. Ron Heller, donor of these
portraits, I was able to keep
my promise.
