University Library recognizes Banned Books Week
As part of the national Banned Books Week, the library teamed up with English faculty to allow students the opportunity to read passages from their favorite books that may once have been contested or banned. Ranging from classes such as the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Lord of the Flies to more recently contested novels like the Harry Potter series and The Hunger Games, students had a wide variety of books to choose from. Dozens of students gathered outside of the library to listen and share their passages, celebrating the diversity and freedom of literature.
