A&M-SA celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month!

The Office of Student Activities is sponsoring two upcoming events to continue celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Students are invited to enjoy Mexican pastries and coffee next week and learn more about the first all-female mariachi in a documentary showing on October 14. In September, Student Activities presented a food demonstration, showing students how to make healthier Mexican dishes without losing any flavor, and a performance by the Ballet Folklorico Dancers.

Cultivating the arts in elementary students

Now on display on the third floor of the Central Academic Building is an exhibit of student art from Columbia Heights Elementary and V.M. Adams Elementary from Harlandale Independent School District. Featuring diverse Latin@ role models such as Cesar Chavez, Jesse Trevino and Jennifer Lopez, the 42 works of student art will remain displayed in the central hall of the third floor until Wednesday, October 15.
