Ring ceremony photoA&M-SA students honor their rings

Recent graduates from fall 2014 and candidates for spring 2015 commencement received their class rings at the annual Honoring the Ring Ceremony on April 2. Dr. Melissa Mahan, vice president of Student Affairs, introduced A&M-SA President Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson, who spoke about the meaning of the University ring, and special guest alumnus Armando Prado Jr. shared his experience as a student at A&M-SA and receiving his own class ring.

Following the ceremony in the Auditorium, students moved out to the University Seal set in the Grand Courtyard, where they received their rings from someone special in their lives. On this special occasion, the stanchions are removed from around the University Seal, allowing students to stand on the seal to receive their rings. Over 200 students participated in the Ring Ceremony, achieving another milestone before graduation.
