Keeping the Classroom Relevant

TEACHER

"In "Sisters in Bloom: Tending to the Garden of Sisterhood," students considered Black women's friendship as a kind of maternal labor. Students created their own archive and wrote letters to their class partners discussing Lorde's notion of the erotic, friendship, etc and posted the letters to our class Tumblr page." - Dr. Carr

PRODUCER

"Because our film centers doulas and midwives, we amplify the voices of Black women in the medical health field. Often, Black women are not viewed as experts or knowledgebearers. However, our film prioritizes Black doulas and midwives and their collective knowledge as essential in the fight against reproductive injustice." - Dr. Carr
