Department of Criminology and Political Science

Welcome to the Department of Criminology and Political Science! Housed in the College of Arts and Sciences, our department is home to a diverse group of faculty, students, programs, and initiatives. Our faculty excel in research and teach courses on a broad range of topics, including terrorism, political theory, immigration policy, international affairs, intelligence analysis and much more.

We offer 3 undergraduate degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. We also offer courses in support of a degree in Military Science, as well as a Minor in Legal Studies. In the fall of 2022, we launched our fully online Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice degree, with electives focusing on topics such as violence and victimization, cybercrime and immigration law.

Our programs prepare students for careers in law enforcement, public policy planning, nonprofit work, legal services, international affairs and advocacy, intelligence analysis, and a variety of other public service fields. Many of our students have also entered Ph.D. programs and law school following graduation.

Obtaining a degree from any of our programs will provide you with the intellectual and practical skills to be successful in a rapidly changing workforce.
