Get the Support You Need with the ROAR Grant
Texas A&M University-San Antonio understands that financial challenges can disrupt your education. The Reimagining Opportunities for Assistance and Resources (ROAR) Grant provides financial relief to help you stay focused on your academic goals.
How ROAR Can Help
The ROAR Grant offers several types of support to assist students in managing unexpected expenses and continuing their education:
- Emergency Assistance: Receive up to $400 per academic year for essential expenses like textbooks, medical needs, transportation, or groceries. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Scholarships: Eligible students with financial need can apply for $2,000 scholarships to support their education.
- Laptop Program: Students who need a laptop for coursework may qualify to receive one, along with training on how to use it effectively.
- Graduation Support: Students within 15 credit hours of graduation may qualify for a $3,000 completion scholarship to help them finish their degree.
Who Can Apply?
The ROAR Grant is available for first-time college (FTIC) and transfer students beginning in Fall 2024. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Additional consideration is given to foster youth and students facing financial hardships. Applicants must provide documentation verifying their expenses. Support is available Why This Matters
