Meet the Academic Admissions Requirements
1. Complete an International Admissions Application
- Money Order of non-refundable Application fee of $64.00 is required.
2. Provide Official Transcripts
- If you attended a school OUTSIDE of the U.S. please submit a Foreign Credential Evaluation Report.
- If you attended a school INSIDE the U.S. please send in your Official Transcripts

We accept multiple English proficiency exams to meet the requirements, or you might be exempt based on several scenarios. You may review your options below. Please send all test scores directly from the testing portal, soft copies sent via email or through the upload portal will not be used to complete the admission file. Test scores should not be older than 2 years or they will be considered expired.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Exam code 6712- A score of 79 (internet-based) or 550 (paper-based) is the university minimum requirement for all graduate students.
- A score of 61 (internet-based) or 500 (paper-based) is the university minimum requirement for all undergraduate students.
- This score must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Services (ETS) and dated within two (2) years of enrollment. Residual (Institutional) TOEFL exams taken at another institution will not be accepted.
- Applicants may submit the Duolingo English Test (DET), which combines an English proficiency test with a brief video interview. Duolingo’s technology and format allow applicants to complete the test at any time or place with internet access.
- Undergraduate Students must submit a Duolingo score of at least 85.
- Undergraduate students must submit a PTE score of 43.
- The minimum score required for Graduate Students is a 6.0 overall band score.
- The minimum score required for Undergraduate Students is a 5.0 overall band score.
- Texas A&M University-San Antonio only accepts scores submitted directly by the IELTS test center. No self-reported Test Report Forms will be accepted. An institutional code is NOT required for IELTS. Please contact the test center directly where you took the test and request that your test scores be sent to the following:

4. Possess the equivalent of a 2.0 out of a 4.0 grade point average for admission consideration.
5. Evidence of Meningitis Immunization
- If the student is 22 years or less of age is required to submit evidence of vaccination against bacterial meningitis.

Texas Success Initiative Exam

2. Provide U.S. Official Transcripts
- Submit the original transcripts from all of the universities that you had attended in the U.S.
- Transcript must be submitted in English.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Exam code 6712
- A score of 79 (internet-based) or 550 (paper-based) is the university minimum requirement for all graduate students.

- A Verbal Score of 400 (Score on the Prior GRE Scale) or 146 (Score on the Current GRE Scale) is required SUBJECT TO DEPARTMENTAL APPROVAL.
- Applicants may submit the Duolingo English Test (DET), which combines an English proficiency test with a brief video interview. Duolingo’s technology and format allow applicants to complete the test at any time or place with internet access.
- Undergraduate Students must submit a Duolingo score of at least 85.
- Undergraduate students must submit a PTE score of 43.

All international students are required to take one of the above English proficiency tests unless they qualify for a waiver.
The following are also considered for the English Proficiency Admission Requirement:
- Students who have completed their entire formal education at the secondary or postsecondary level in the following countries are exempt from the TOEFL requirement: American Samoa, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada (except Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, Federated States of Micronesia, Gambia, Ghana, Gibraltar, Grenada, Guam, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Liberia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Siant Kitts and Nevis, Santa Lucia, Trinidad-Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, and United Kingdom (all). Please note: Applicants from Puerto Rico, where Spanish is the primary language, are required to submit a TOEFL or equivalent.
- Based on the review and decision of the College of Graduate Studies, students who have earned at least 12 credits, with a grade C or better, in university-level courses from a U.S. institution or an institution in one of the countries listed above, may be exempt from TOEFL.
- Completion of the advanced-level Texas Intensive English Program (TIEP) offered by the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC).
Meet the Immigration Requirements
1. If you are on an F-1 student visa status, you will need the following:
- Proof of Financial Resources in (English) verifying an equivalent of:
- $39,110 in U.S. Dollars – Undergraduate students
- $36,110 in U.S. Dollars – Graduate students
- $45,511 in U.S. Dollars - 11 Month MBA
2. Transfer-in Form
- Complete this form only if you are transferring from another U.S. school. Please click here
3. Must provide copies of all the immigration documents-(Including dependents if applicable)
- Passport (valid 6 months into the future)
- Visa Stamp
- I-94 (original or electronic copy)
- A copy of all I-20 Forms that issued to you since you have entered to the United States. (for transfer student in U.S. only)
Conditional Admission
International applicants may be considered for conditional admission, except students on an F-1 visa.
According to U.S. Department of Homeland Security that govern the F-1 student visa, F-1 students are NOT eligible for conditional admission.International Application Deadline
