Jaguars leading on the South Side

Congratulations to Richard Delgado Jr., director of Military Community Relations and a new graduate of the 20th City South Leadership Academy. The academy is offered by the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and each class of graduating professionals awards thousands of dollars of scholarships to high school students in the South Side. Texas A&M System to offer fixed tuition

The Texas A&M University System sees fixed tuition as one answer to rising tuition costs, and is calling for system universities to offer incoming freshman classes a guaranteed tuition plan. Read more in the San Antonio Express-News.
 

The path from Laredo to San Antonio

Students at Laredo Community College now have a new, seamless pathway to pursuing a bachelor's degree, thanks to a new articulation agreement with Texas A&M-San Antonio. The occasion was marked by a special signing ceremony with Dr. Maria Hernandez Ferrier and Dr. Juan L. Maldonado, president of Laredo Community College on May 21 in Laredo. On Thursday, May 23, construction workers (and Jaggie!) placed the dome on the pinnacle of the growing Central Academic Building. The dome will become an iconic symbol of the Texas A&M University-San Antonio skyline, where we are truly changing the landscape of San Antonio!
