Photo of MorrisonSan Antonio, TX - Texas A&M University-San Antonio announced today that Darrell R. Morrison has been named Vice President for Business Affairs/Chief Financial Officer. In his role as Vice President for Business Services/CFO, Morrison will serve as the university's top fiscal officer overseeing accounting, budget, accounts receivable, purchasing/procurement, payroll, accounts payable, human resources, technology services, university police department, facilities and auxiliary services. His appointment was confirmed earlier today at a special telephonic meeting of the Board of Regents in College Station, Texas.

He is uniquely qualified and is sure to be a tremendous asset to us as we prepare to take A&M-SA to the next level,” Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson, President of A&M-San Antonio stated. “I am confident with his previous experience serving at a university that transitioned from a two-year to a four-year institution will benefit A&M-SA well in the years ahead.”

Darrell R. Morrison has served as the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith (UAFS) since September 2011. From 2000 to August 2011, Morrison held several administrative positions at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas including Controller, Associate Vice President for Finance/Director of Financial Services and finally Vice President for Finance in July 2006. He will start his new position at A&M-San Antonio on July 1, 2015.

For over eight years, Morrison has held various leadership positions with the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO). He currently serves on the SACUBO board and also serves on the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) board. Morrison earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting in 1985 from Henderson State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2005.
