The Last Bandoleros & Girl In A Coma to Rock Festival de Cascarones!
The seventh annual Festival de Cascarones, hosted by Texas A&M University-San Antonio, will rock this year with headliners Girl In A Coma and The Last Bandoleros. Festival de Cascarsones is a family-friendly official Fiesta San Antonio event, which attracts thousands of attendees to the nearly 700-acre campus on the south side of San Antonio.
The Last Bandoleros, who are currently touring internationally with Sting, are a four-piece outfit blending Tex-Mex, country and rock n' roll whose story begins in San Antonio. Band members Diego and Emilio Navaira, sons of Tejano music legend, Emilio Navaira, Sr., made a name for themselves around town for their energetic live performances and sterling vocal chops. The now critically acclaimed and veteran artists have been praised by music press galore. Rolling Stone wrote: "[The Last Bandoleros'] music caroms wildly from rock and country to conjunto and pop, adding up to a sound that's hard to get out of your head."
Girl In A Coma is an indie-rock band who also hails from San Antonio. The latest album, Exits & All the Rest, was included on National Public Radio's list of Top 50 Albums of the Year and won the Independent Music Award for Best Indie/Alt. Rock Album. This all-girl trio will paint Festival Cascarones with thrill and energy.
