Apply 64 in the nation, #13 in Texas for bachelor’s degrees awarded
San Antonio — Texas A&M University-San Antonio was recognized this month by Hispanic Outlook as one of the nation’s top-producing universities of bachelor’s degrees awarded to Hispanic students, ranking 64th in the nation and 13th in Texas.
A&M-San Antonio is one of the nation’s fastest-growing Hispanic-Serving Institutions and continues to be an exemplar for serving Hispanic students, with 77 percent of its students identifying as Hispanic. Founded in 2009, the University continues to experience record enrollment leading to a record number of graduates. Nearly 73 percent of A&M-San Antonio students are the first in their family to attend college.
“Like every university across the nation, we had to face the challenges of the pandemic head on, but we also saw this time as an opportunity to adapt and refine our academic support to ensure that our students were able to continue their academic pursuits,” said Dr. Mike O’Brien, A&M-San Antonio Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “We also made sure we provided our faculty with the necessary tools to adapt their teaching methods so they could continue delivering a quality education experience.”
A&M-San Antonio’s enrollment has continued grow over the past 12 years. Overall enrollment grew by 1.8 percent for fall 2021. This December, students will again cross the stage during three separate commencement ceremonies to join the ranks of the University’s 14,000-plus alumni.
