Winter Weather Resources

Take time to prepare for inclement weather conditions and potential power outages.

In the event of a loss of power or heat, find information about the nearest warming stations.

In the event of poor weather, stay updated on road closures, and notify your supervisor if your circumstances require a delay. Everyone is encouraged to travel safely!

You can find additional resources for winter weather preparation and safety.

Finally, review the list of tips below to keep yourself and your family members safe and warm.

  • Wear layers of clothing to stay warm.
  • Bring pets indoors; they are also susceptible to frostbite and hypothermia.
  • Protect your pipes. Cover or wrap them for insulation. Keep water moving by allowing a small trickle of water to run.
  • Place space heaters on a level surface and keep flammables at least three feet away.
  • Never use a stove or oven to heat your home.
  • Slow down if driving on icy roads.
  • Keep a supply of batteries, water and warm blankets in case of a power outage.
