Dr. Juan Guardia, VPSA at A&M-SA
Dr. Juan R. Guardia is a scholar-practitioner with 25 years in various higher education and student affairs administrative roles. He currently serves as the Vice President for Student Affairs at Texas A&M University – San Antonio and leads a team committed to promoting student development, learning and success and enhancing meaningful student experiences which contribute to the mission and vision for the Division of Student Affairs and TAMU-SA.
Previously he was Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at the University of Cincinnati and worked at Northeastern Illinois University, Florida State University, and George Mason University. Dr. Guardia has also served as adjunct faculty at the University of Cincinnati, Loyola University Chicago, and Florida State University.
Dr. Guardia is a proud Cuban-American, first-generation college graduate; he earned a graduate certificate in leadership and management from the Carl H. Linder College of Business at the University of Cincinnati, a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership-Higher Education Administration and a graduate certificate in community college teaching from Iowa State University, a master’s degree in Higher Education and a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Florida State University, and an associate in arts degree from Miami-Dade College.
