Chemistry Degree Plans
Undergraduate Program
Texas A&M University San Antonio's undergraduate chemistry program aims to provide students with a high-quality education in the fundamentals of chemistry as well as hands-on experience with current chemical instrumentation.
The BS in Chemistry degree is intended for students who want to continue higher graduate studies or work in a private or government chemical laboratory right away.
Students who want a technical degree in chemistry with more course flexibility can get a BA in Chemistry. Students considering a future in chemical-related professions, such as pre-med, pre-pharmacy, or other health-care-related degrees, will find the BA in Chemistry particularly appealing.
A BS in Chemistry with Teaching Certificate is available to undergraduate students who want to teach.
A Minor in Chemistry or Biochemistry can be earned by completing up to 20 semester hours of chemistry curriculum, including 6 hours of advanced study.
Undergraduate chemistry students are actively encouraged to take part in undergraduate research, internships, or study abroad programs. Our students are better prepared to stand out when applying to graduate and professional institutions as a result of these high-impact approaches.
