Bachelor of Science Interdisciplinary Studies in Special Education
The Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-6/ 4-8/ 7-12 plus Special Education Certification Program offers students a choice of multiple specialization areas. The undergraduate program requires a minimum of 124 semester hours to complete. The minimum number of semester credit hours required for this certification is 124, at least 30 of which must be at the upper-division level.

Dual Certification EC-6 with Special Education
This Dual Certification EC-6 with Special Education degree prepares candidates to become certified and teach in an elementary school, while also supporting exceptional learners in a variety of contexts.
Dual Certification 4-8 with Special Education
This Dual Certification 4-8 with Special Education degree plan prepares candidates to become certified and teach in an elementary or middle school, while also supporting exceptional learners in a variety of contexts.
Dual Certification 7-12 Content with Special Education
The Dual Certification 7-12 Content with Special Education degree plan prepares candidates to become certified and teach in a selected 7th-12th grade content area, while also supporting exceptional learners in a variety of contexts.

The Educational Diagnostician Program reviews applications, interviews, and admits students for the fall semester. Application due dates align with Graduate Admissions deadline of July 15th for fall semester.

- Educational Diagnostician Certificate Only*
* This option is for applicants who already have a Master's degree in a closely related field and are seeking a post-master's degree certification only.

- Official transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate coursework, and
- All of the following:
- A current resume.
- A letter of intent.
- A minimum of two letters of recommendation.
- Teaching service record.
- Valid teaching certificate(s) from TEA.
- Select
- After application review, qualified applicants are sent invitations for interview.
- Interview of candidates.
