Dual Credit Programs
What is Dual Credit?
Dual credit gives eligible high school students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit concurrently. In order for a student to participate, their high school must be approved to offer dual credit courses.
What is Early College High School (ECHS)?
Early college high schools are innovative high schools that give students in grades nine through 12 the opportunity to earn up to 60 hours of college credit, all at no cost to their families. Through this program, high school students can take courses at the A&M-SA campus with university faculty and have access to campus support services. To be eligible to participate, students must attend a partnering high school and be recommended by the high school counselor.
- Admissions

Currently, A&M-SA has an ECHS partnership with Southwest Preparatory School - Northwest Campus and Shirleen Zacharias Early College Leadership Academy. The early college program through A&M-SA is only available to students who attend these campuses.
A&M-SA partners with CAST Med High School, CAST Lead High School, Jubilee Academies Lake View University Prep, Jubilee Academies-San Antonio, Lighthouse Public Schools, and South San High School to offer dual credit.
If you are a K-12 institution and interested in receiving more information about creating a partnership with A&M-SA, please feel free to contact the Department of University Access.
Homeschool Dual Credit
Texas A&M-San Antonio wants to offer homeschool students the opportunity to earn credit towards their high school graduation and future degree plans. The guardian or homeschool administrator will need to reach out to the Partnership Liaison. A meeting or phone call can be arranged to discuss the process.
