Good Neighbor Scholarship (GNS) Program
The Good Neighbor Scholarship provides tuition assistance to students from nations of the Western Hemisphere (not Cuba or the U.S.). This scholarship exempts the student from paying tuition for one full academic year (fall, spring, and summer). Selected recipients are responsible for paying fees.
How to Apply
You must meet the eligibility criteria and submit the following to the Office of International Affairs by 5 P.M. February 22, 2024.
- Academic transcript;
- Evidence of having registered for Selective Services (Students on valid F-1 visa do not need to register); and
- Copies of your immigration documents (I-20, passport, visa & I-94).

Incomplete applications or applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
What Happens After I Apply?
- Texas A&M University-San Antonio’s Good Neighbor Scholarship Committee will review applications, and endorse submissions to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
- The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board will select the recipients and notify the Office of International Affairs.
- The Office of International Affairs will notify students during the month of May with the award information.
Graduate Scholarships
Graduate Merit Scholarships provide $1,000 to master’s students and make them eligible for in-state tuition for a savings of $10,000. These scholarships can be combined with graduate assistantships or departmental scholarships to create an appealing financial aid package for exceptional applicants.

Other Scholarships
ScholarshipUniverse (SU) is an online scholarship platform that matches students to relevant, vetted external scholarship opportunities, as well as internal scholarships offered by the university. ScholarshipUniverse is now open for currently enrolled A&M-SA students and admitted prospective students who have JagWire login credentials.
The International Peace Scholarship Fund, established in 1949, is a program which provides scholarships for selected women from other countries for graduate study in the United States and Canada. The scholarship is based upon demonstrated need; however, the award is not intended to cover all academic or personal expenses.

Florence Terry Griswold Scholarship
The Florence Terry Griswold Scholarship is awarded annually by the Pan American Round Tables of Texas. This scholarship, named in honor of the founder of the Pan American Round Tables, assists a female student from one of the Pan American countries (other than the United States) in pursuing her studies in the state of Texas.
