ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
There are a few different ways you can become eligible for Jaguar Promise.
- If you are a high school student in the top 10% of your class or have earned at least 30 credits from an Early College High School.
- If you are in high school and you are in the top 35% and you have a family adjusted gross income (AGI) of $70,000 or less.
- If you are a transfer student who has earned an Associate’s degree or at least 60 college credits and you have a family adjusted gross income (AGI) of $70,000 or less.
In addition, all students who receive Jaguar Promise must be Texas residents, must have graduated from a high school in Texas and must earn at least 12 credit hours per each Fall and Spring semester at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
Students must also complete the necessary steps in order to become eligible for Jaguar Promise:
1. APPLY FOR ADMISSION by the priority deadline.The priority deadline for Spring 2025 applications is October 1, 2024.
2. SUBMIT YOUR TRANSCRIPTS
In order to get admitted to the University, you must submit your official high school or college transcript(s) from all schools attended. Learn More.
3. APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID
You must complete the FAFSA or TASFA by the priority deadline each year to maintain eligibility. Be sure to check the Financial Aid & Scholarships website for deadlines.
Typically, the FAFSA opens on October 1 each year for the following year.
Depending on when you are enrolling in classes, the priority deadlines are as follows:
MAINTAINING ELIGIBILITY
Like any scholarship or financial aid you receive, you must maintain good academic standing and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to maintain eligibility.

Additionally, be sure that you stay enrolled in at least 12 credits the entire time you are in the Jaguar Promise program. You must maintain full-time enrollment to keep your eligibility.
You must be enrolled continuously throughout your time at A&M-San Antonio. For example, if your decide to take a "semester off," you will no longer be eligible for the Jaguar Promise when you return.
Additionally, be sure that you earn at least 12 credits in both the Fall and Spring semesters while you are in the Jaguar Promise program. You must maintain full-time enrollment to keep your eligibility.
JAGUAR PROMISE RENEWAL
Students who maintain eligibility are able to renew the Jaguar Promise until completion of a bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
