Mays Center for Experiential Learning and Community Engagement

Campus Garden & Greenhouse

The Campus Garden and Greenhouse is an on-campus resource for the University Community. Located behind the portables, the Campus Garden and Greenhouse is a learning lab and a volunteer and service-learning location.

The Campus Garden and Greenhouse:

  • Offers best practice gardening lessons.
  • Delivers fresh vegetables and fruits harvested for the General’s Store, the A&M-San Antonio campus food pantry.
  • Serves as a high-impact practice used for educational and research purposes.
  • It is an example of sustainable water resources.
  • Provides stress and anxiety relief for those who garden.

How can you get involved?

  • Volunteer at the Garden on your own, with a group of friends, or with members of your organization – help us mulch and weed the garden beds and more. Sign up to volunteer on GivePulse!
  • Adopt a garden bed by yourself, with a group of friends, or with members of your organization. Email mays@tamusa.edu for more details.
  • Donate materials to the garden. Materials such as lumber, aluminum, plastic milk jugs, egg cartons, and other gardening equipment can be reused and recycled.
