The Pathways to Success (P2S) grant aims to create supportive and transformative experiences for undergraduate students.
Core Objectives
- Increase the number of students who are TSI ready
- Increase course success rates for at-risk students
- Increase retentions rates for undeserved and low-income students
- Increase graduation rates for undeserved and low-income students

The P2S grant, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, supports the vision of the institution through the development of three in-depth activities:

Discovery Pathways
What is it?
Discovery Pathways are comprised of a series of activities that foster academic, personal, and career interests in a variety of industries for A&M-SA students. Discovery pathways aim to help students with major and career affinity, aligning their passion and past experiences with the current and future needs of society. Discovery pathways take into consideration the following three items: 1) Pathways are structured programs and initiatives that help students explore potential career paths and confirm academic major selection; 2) Pathways help students recognize and leverage aspects of their identity and talents; and 3) Pathways are forward thinking and anticipatory in the needs of a future society, helping students to participate in and work towards creative solutions.
First-Year Experience Pathway
- First-Year Seminar redesign - A&M-SA offers incoming students an FYS course that is designed to acclimatize them to a college environment. seminar course, so it serves as a transformative starting point for vertically integrated pathways. FYS will also be designed to include more career exploration activities that will help students understand their pathways from college to career as well as to start exploring experiential learning
- Pursuing Resources, Opportunities, Wellness, and Learning (PROWL) – PROWL is a peer spring mentorship program focused on supporting first-year students who take FYS in the fall with the goal of supporting students through challenges, fostering a sense of belonging, career connections, and increasing retention to second year.
