The ROAR Grant
Reimagining Opportunities for Assistance and Resources (ROAR)
The ROAR Grant offers emergency financial assistance, scholarships, and essential resources to help Texas A&M-San Antonio students stay focused on their academic journey. Support is available for first-time college (FTIC) and transfer students beginning in Fall 2024.
Emergency Funding
The ROAR Grant provides emergency funding of up to $400 per academic year to help students cover urgent needs. Eligible expenses include:
- Textbooks
- Utility bills
- Gas and bus passes
- Medical prescriptions
- Car repairs or transportation
- Groceries and essential needs
Eligibility:
- Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
- Minimum GPA of 2.0
- Must submit documentation verifying expenses
Excluded Expenses: Emergency funds cannot be used for airfare, vacations, cosmetics, tobacco, alcohol, or similar non-essential items.
