About the Program

Texas A&M University-San Antonio (A&M-SA) has partnered with Mentor Collective to connect new Jaguars with current students, creating a supportive community that fosters a strong sense of belonging during their transition to university life. Through this mentorship program, we aim to provide incoming students with the opportunity to ask questions, explore campus resources, and gain valuable insights into student life and the wide range of programs offered at TAMUSA. Our goal is to ensure that every new Jaguar feels supported, informed, and empowered to succeed during their academic journey.

About The Mentors

Mentors are current A&M-SA students who are dedicated to supporting new Jaguars. They are upperclassmen actively working toward their degrees and eager to help guide new students through their university experience.

Mentors share their knowledge, provide advice, and offer valuable insights to help new students navigate their academic, social, and professional journey at A&M-SA.

Mentees are new students at A&M-SA who wish to connect with a Jag2Jag Mentor to ease their transition into university life.

How Are Mentors And Mentees Paired?

Through the matching process, mentees are paired with mentors based on common interests, majors, and other factors to ensure a meaningful connection. Mentorship can take place via text, phone, or in-person meetings, offering flexibility and support that fits your schedule.

Hello everyone! I'm excited to join the mentorship program. I decided to become a mentor because I believe in the power of guidance and support in helping others achieve their goals. One area I hope to assist my mentee with is developing effective time management skills, which I believe are crucial for both personal and professional success. Looking forward to this journey!

I became a mentor because I have lots of experience in my current role as a Peer Leader on campus. I have a passion for connecting with people and helping their college experience run more smoothly. I love connecting my mentees to resources, explore exciting opportunities and helping them feel safe and welcome.
