Reset Password/Unlock Account

Please review the possible resolutions below before continuing to reset your password.

  • NOTE: Unlocking your account on the self-service tool will not unlock your blackboard account. If you are needing to unlock your blackboard account, please Click Here
  • If you are having issues with logging into your email account, just remember that your email address is username@jaguar.tamu.edu and the password is the same as your jaguar account password.
  • If your password autofill’s when logging into jagwire, Click Here for instructions on how to retrieve your password.
  • If you are having issues with logging into Jagwire or blackboard and just want to reset your password. Click Here
    Please try to log in first because the issue may not be that you are entering the wrong password, but it may be that your password is expired.(Passwords expire every 180 days/60months)

If none of these apply to your issue, continue to the TIPs for resetting your password.

TIPs to make sure your password reset goes through successfully.

When you are resetting your password, please make sure that you go by the following criteria list.
  • Minimum Length should be at least 8
  • Include 2 special characters
  • Must Contain 2 upper case and 2 Lower case character(s)
  • Include 2 numerals
  • Must not be a Palindrome(A word, phrase, number or any other sequence of units which has the property of reading the same forwards as it does backwards)
  • Must not contain any character more than twice consecutively
  • Must not have 5 consecutive characters from username
  • Must not contain any personal information 
    Example: First Name, Last Name, Username, DOB, or SSN

    This list has more criteria added to it from the one on the self-service portal, but if you follow it you will have no issues with resetting your password
