An entire class of fourth graders had the chance to see one of their teachers recognized at her alma mater on Thursday, May 16. Texas A&M University-San Antonio honored Rachel McDonald '12, the first graduate of the University's "Ready From Day One" teacher preparation program to be hired by the district in which she trained. McDonald is a fourth grade teacher at Inez Foster Elementary School in the San Antonio Independent School District, and is about to complete her first semester as a full-time teacher. Her students and that of her two fourth-grade colleagues (including another TAMU-SA grad!) were treated to a campus tour and had a priceless chance to see firsthand the value of higher education.
