A&M-SA receives $1M for first-generation students

The Greehey Family Foundation generously awarded a $1 million endowment gift to Texas A&M University-San Antonio dedicated to providing scholarships to first-generation students. This gift is the first endowment and one of the largest individual gifts that the University has received to date and serves as a testament to The Greehey Family Foundation's commitment to higher education and the San Antonio community. Bill Greehey, president of the foundation, was a first-generation student himself and understands the unique challenges to pursuing a college degree first-generation students face.

"We are thrilled that The Greehey Family Foundation has chosen to support A&M-San Antonio in our mission of bringing access and affordability to an education of excellence," said Dr. Maria Hernandez Ferrier, president of A&M-San Antonio. Read more about this generous donation here.
