Awards abound for Veronica Lopez Guerrero, a graduate student in A&M-SA's Reading Program. She was recently recognized by the Texas Lottery as the Teacher of the Month and was also named Teacher of the Year for SAISD's Hirsch Elementary School.
In March, Guerrero was also honored as an H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards finalist. She received a $1,000 check as part of this honor. As a finalist, Guerrero will participate in an H-E-B panel interview in Houston, with the state winner to be announced on May 6.
