On Monday, Nov. 18, A&M-SA honored Mr. Paul Denham as our 2019 Dream Maker Scholarship Luncheon honoree. In the summer of 2019, Paul and the Financial Literacy of the South Texas Foundation board unanimously voted to establish a $1 million endowment at Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
The gift will support a stipend funding for financial literacy fellows who will provide money coaching on-campus and in the community. It will be supported by our Mays Center for Experiential Learning and Community Engagement. Additionally, the gift will fund scholarships for finance and accounting majors who are involved in financial literacy efforts in the community.
This year we celebrated the collective impact of a record-breaking number of sponsors and raised over $200,000 for the A&M-SA Foundation. These funds will go towards scholarships for current and future students.
Each year the Texas A&M University-San Antonio Foundation honors distinguished individuals who have made a profound and lasting impact on the education of students in South Texas and at A&M-SA. This year we are proud to recognize Mr. Denham who will join a renowned list of past honorees which includes: the Honorable Henry Cisneros, Carlos Alvarez, Lowry Mays, Dr. Carl Raba, Peter Holt, Weisie & the Honorable John Steen, Peggy & Dan Allen Hughes, Jr., Coach Gene Stallings, William "Bill" Greehey and Regent Elaine Mendoza.
The Dream Maker Luncheon is the Foundation’s largest fundraiser event of the year and 100% of proceeds are used for vital scholarship dollars to support students attending Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
