What we're doing to improve community health:
We are building the workforce of tomorrow and creating pathways to health education and research to improve community health through the pursuit of quality and efficient health care. University Health's future hospital and Institute of Public Health adjacent to Texas A&M-San Antonio will enhance service to families in South Bexar County and South Texas.
Our partnership with the Texas A&M Health System will:
- Grow A&M-SA's health science program offerings to include community and rural health, health care administration, behavioral health problems, health science, and biomedical degrees
- Expand Texas A&M Health's undergraduate, graduate and profession health-related medical education and clinical programs
- Create a new Public Health unit at A&M-SA for research
- Support the development of medical, clinical and non-clinical workforces to serve the community
- Promote positive patient experiences, compassionate patient care, excellence in education, public health promotion and intervention, and outstanding health outcomes
