Enhancing Early Childhood Education Overview
This project will strengthen the early childcare ecosystem in Bexar County as follows:
• Offer affordable high-quality childcare to families living or working in Bexar County
• Support teachers at childcare centers, city and statewide, as they enhance the quality of services offered to an estimated 2,000 children
• Directly and indirectly strengthen the early childhood care workforce
This future school will serve approximately 200 children from birth to 6 years of age at any one time, providing wrap-around services, training professionals, conducting collaborative research that will transform the early childcare ecosystem, and providing support to other childcare centers in the city and Bexar county.
An early fulfillment of improving the childhood ecosystem in our community took place in January of 2024 when the Young Jaguars After School Program at TAMUSA became fully operational.
