Additional Online Resources:
- Texas Water Journal (TWJ): You will find a treasure of information about all water issues in Texas from this Journal. Dr. Rody Rosen, Director our own Institute for Water Resources Science and Technology, serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Journal. Great learning resource!
- Texas Water Development Board’s 2017 State Water Plan (5-year Plan): Texas has one of the fastest growing populations in the country. By 2070, 51 million people are expected to live in the Lone Star State, all of whom will need water to work and live. To ensure that we have adequate and affordable water supplies, the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) - the state’s lead water planning and infrastructure financing agency and is statutorily responsible for administering the regional water planning process and preparing and adopting the state water plan every five years - published the latest version of the Plan in 2017 to reflect and respond to changes in population, water supplies, technological improvements, economic shifts, project viability, and state policy.
- San Antonio Water System’s 2017 Water Management Plan: San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is one of the largest municipal water utilities in the country. SAWS also publishes its own water management plan periodically to ensure it provides clean and affordable water for 1.8 million people (and growing) in San Antonio and surrounding areas. This version of the Water Management Plan focuses on the diversification of water portfolio, including aquifer storage, brackish desalination, service integration, and costs of the various water supplies.
- Edwards Aquifer: You can tap into the webpage of the Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA) which provides an abundance of scientific information on the Aquifer's unique geological formation and its conservation.
