Texas A&M University-San Antonio is an approved Pearson Vue test site. Pearson Vue delivers a large variety of exams for professional licensure, various certifications, academic admissions, and regulatory and government testing service markets. Our testing site is open to the general public and is located on the Southside of San Antonio.
Pearson Vue Registration and Scheduling
Currently, we are providing testing for the Information Technology (IT) Exams, Professional Licensure and Certification Exams, GED exams, and TExES exams.
Step 1. Register for your exam. Visit the Pearson Vue website for the list of exams and registration instructions.
Step 2. On the test day, please bring your required materials for checking in for your specific exam. You will find all required materials on the Pearson Vue website.
Exams are offered every Monday through Saturday during our open hours. Please visit Pearson Vue for schedule availability.
Pearson Vue Identification Requirements
Valid government-issued identification with photo and signature (i.e., driver's license, passport, state-issued ID, military ID, etc.) and a second valid ID with a signature may be required.
Some exams allow for other types of identification or may require additional forms of identification. Refer to your specific exam requirements on the identification required for your exam.
Additional Exam Information
Prohibited Items
- Cameras, cell phones, optical readers, or other electronic devices that include the ability to photograph, photocopy, or otherwise copy test materials.
- Notes, books, dictionaries, or language dictionaries (except as expressly permitted by the test sponsor and named in the candidate’s confirmation letter).
- Book bags, purses, handbags, or luggage.
- iPods, MP3 players, tablets, headphones, or pagers.
- Calculators (except as expressly permitted by the test sponsor), computers, PDAs, or other electronic devices with memory.
- Personal writing utensils (i.e., pencils, pens, and highlighters).
- Google and smart glasses (any glasses with any electronics).
- Watches, smart devices, and other jewelry except wedding or engagement rings.
- Weapons.
- Medicine, including cough drops (except as expressly permitted in advance).
- Food and beverage.
- Hats, hoods, hoodies, or other headgear are not permitted in the examination room unless required for religious. purposes. All items are subject to inspection by the proctor if suspicious behavior is detected.
- Coats and jackets.
What You Need to Know
- Pearson Vue exams are timed.
- All testers will receive a copy of scores upon completion - if applicable.
- Request for special accommodations for testing must be submitted to Pearson Vue prior to scheduling your exam. You can learn more about test accommodations through the Pearson Vue.
- You need to arrive 15 minutes prior to the exam.
- If you are more than 15 minutes late, it is at the Testing Center's discretion to allow you to test.
How to Prepare for an Exam
- Review study guides and practice exams.
- Get a good night's rest prior to the exam.
- Eat a nutritious meal prior to testing.
Breaks
The candidate may break at any time to use the restroom, get a drink of water, or stretch. Candidates are not allowed to leave the testing center or access personal belongings during unscheduled breaks. Time spent on a break cannot be made up; it is deducted from the overall testing time.
Please review specific requirements of your exam. Some exam sponsors will not allow unscheduled breaks or have additional restrictions.

How do I reschedule a test?
Visit Pearson Vue's website and select the relevant test program from the Testing Taker Services section. Once you have chosen your test program, select "Reschedule a Test" on the right-hand side and complete the necessary fields.
What if I have a problem?

How early should I arrive at the test center on the day of my test?
Arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will give you an opportunity to check-in and relax prior to beginning your test. The amount of time you are asked to arrive at the center before your scheduled appointment appointment times differs from each program. You will receive a confirmation email with program-specific information.
What happens when I arrive to take an exam?
When candidates arrive for an exam, they go through a standard admissions process. Candidates are asked to provide two forms of identification, to agree in writing to a set of exam rules and to sign a login sheet. Some exams may have additional check-in requirements.
