2. Visit Campus

Haven’t visited campus yet? Take one of the daily campus tours offered at 9am and 1pm Monday through Friday. On the campus tour, you’ll get to explore the beautiful campus, meet with an admissions and financial aid rep and talk with a current student!

Not able to physically come to campus? No problem! You can explore campus virtually with the 360-degree virtual tour.

3. Get College Ready

The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a state law that requires all incoming students to determine their readiness for college-level coursework in the areas of reading, writing and mathematics.

If you have taken the TSI Assessment in high school, you can submit your scores to the University. If you need to take the exam, you can schedule an appointment to take the assessment on campus in the Testing Center.

You may also be eligible for an exemption. Visit the Testing Center webpage to learn more.

Each external scholarship opportunity a student sees on SU has gone through an extensive vetting process to ensure the scholarship is offered through a reliable and authentic source.

Visit the Scholarships webpage to learn more.

6. Apply for On-Campus Housing

Considering living on campus? A&M-San Antonio has two twin residence halls, Esperanza Hall and Estrella Hall. In total, there are approximately 740 beds in 2- and 4-bedroom suites.

IMPORTANT: Housing applications open on February 1, 2025 for the 2024-2025 academic year. There is a $200 prepayment required to secure your spot. Space is limited.

All first-year students who live more than 50 miles from the University are required to live on campus during their first year. Priority for on-campus housing is given to students from outside the San Antonio area.

Visit the Student Housing webpage for more info.

7. Confirm Your Enrollment

Starting in March 2025, you will get invited to confirm your enrollment at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. When you get the email asking you to confirm your enrollment, select YES and you'll be directed to the Enrollment Confirmation page.

Complete the form and answer the required questions. Then, you will get to choose a date for New Student Orientation.

8. Choose Your Date for New Student Orientation (NSO)

New Student Orientation is a mandatory 1 or 2-day event that allows you to get acquainted with campus policies and regulations, meet faculty and staff, make new friends with other incoming students and register for classes. Typically, first-year students are required to attend an in-person NSO date in the months of May, June or July.

You will be guided to select your date for NSO once you complete your Enrollment Confirmation (Step 7). Don’t worry; if you need to change your date, you can do so at any time.

During NSO, there’s a special track just for parents and family members, as well!

For questions about New Student Orientation, email nso@tamusa.edu.

9. Access Your Jaguar Student Account

During your time as a student, you will need to use your Jaguar Student Account for important business, including registering for classes and accepting your financial aid.

To access the JagWire Student Portal, use your Jaguar username and temporary password

Your Jaguar username can be found on your admission letter or email.

10. Attend New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is an exciting opportunity for incoming students and their families to immerse themselves in college life. You'll explore the university, connect with fellow new students and discover all that A&M-San Antonio has to offer.

Plus, you'll meet faculty in your major and consult with an academic advisor to plan your first semester of classes!

Once you register for an NSO date, you will receive a confirmation email with your selected date and time. You should also get reminder emails before the event, but be sure to mark your calendar so you don’t miss it!

11. Submit Your Final Transcripts

Remember to submit your final transcripts! While your high school and/or college transcripts were required for admission, we also need your final transcripts once you graduate.

We strongly encourage all students to submit their final transcripts during their first semester. Having your final transcripts on file is essential for registering for future semesters.

12. Purchase a Meal Plan

Take advantage of the new ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT buffet in the Student Dining Hall. Whether you're living on campus or commuting, you can take advantage of a meal plan through Dining Services

Please note that students residing on campus are required to purchase a resident meal plan. All residents will have the dining dollar plan automatically added to their ID card and will activate upon signing the Resident Dining Dollar Meal Plan Agreement.

13. Submit Your Bacterial Meningitis Records

State law requires new students under the age of 22 to have proof of vaccination for Bacterial Meningitis. Due to HIPPA laws, A&M-San Antonio is not allowed to take your medical documentation. Vaccination records should be submitted in Med+Proctor at least 10 days prior to your first semester.

To learn more about the Bacterial Meningitis vaccination requirement or if you require a waiver, please visit the webpage. For questions, you can call the Enrollment Services Center at 210-784-1300.

14. Accept Your Financial Aid Offer or Set Up a Payment Plan

If you applied for financial aid by the January 15 deadline (for Fall), you may receive a financial aid offer letter in the mail. Otherwise, if you are eligible for financial aid, your financial aid award information including grants, scholarships, loans, etc., will be posted to your Student Account (see Step 9).

Once you enroll in your classes, you will also receive a bill via email. If you have a remaining balance after all financial aid has been awarded, you will be required to pay your bill or set up a payment plan before the first payment deadline.

Learn more about accepting your financial aid offer and paying your bill.

15. Attend JagX (Fall only)
