Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)

The Texas A&M University System offers AD&D coverage through New York Life on an employee only or an employee and family coverage. Employee only coverage pays you a benefit if you have certain injuries as a result of an accident. If you pass away from the injuries of the accident, a benefit is paid to your designated beneficiaries.

Family AD&D coverage pays the employee a benefit if a covered dependent passes away or has certain injuries as the result of an accident. If you choose family coverage, all of your eligible dependents are automatically covered. The plan pays full benefits for certain losses and partial benefits for other losses.

Naming a Beneficiary: You must name one or more beneficiaries to receive life insurance benefits in case of your passing. You can name the same beneficiary(s) for all of your life coverage or different ones for each plan. You may also name one or more secondary beneficiaries to receive your benefit if your primary beneficiary(s) were to pass away at the same time or before you. You may change your beneficiaries at any time.
