Leadership/Mentorship

The Division of Student Affairs will be the centralized model for mentorship and leadership programs by creating and guiding campus-wide initiatives.

  • Objective 1 - Leadership Conference Engagement: In three (3) years, increase student participation in the Cisneros Student Leadership Conference by 30%. In five (5) years, open the conference up to local collegiate attendance.
  • Objective 2 - Strengths Championing Engagement: In five (5) years, certify 100 Strengths Champions. Strengths Champions can be faculty, staff, and students, and student employees. In order to be sustainable, Student Success and Engagement will create its own Campus Champion curriculum by spring 2023.
  • Objective 3 - Strengthening Mentoring Engagement: In five (5) years, 30% of mentorship program participants will have taken their Clifton Strengths assessment and participate in a Strengths introductory group session. By year three (3), introduce sponsored student organization members to the overall goal.
  • Objective 4 - Reflection Engagement: Student Success and Engagement Departments hosting Leadership or Mentorship programs will host a reflection activity. Reflections will focus on "closing the loop" of the program; specifically, to learn how they can implement their experience on a resume or in their pathway to success. By 2024, 50% of the programs will have hosted a reflection. By 2024, 75% of the program participants will have participated in a reflection.
  • Objective 5 - Leadership Opportunity Engagement: Increase student participation in A&M-SA sponsored leadership opportunities (on or off-campus) by 30% by 2025.
