Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART)

DSS provides Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART) services, also called open captioning, real-time stenography, or simply real-time captioning. Certified CART providers instantaneously translate all audio (speech and sounds) to text. Display options include computers, projection screens, monitors, or mobile devices. The real-time text may be displayed as a full screen of large text, or the text may be incorporated onto the same screen as the captioned content.
