Case Management
DSS engages in an interactive process with each student and reviews request for accommodations on a case-by-case basis. DSS Case Managers assess each student’s request to determine reasonable and appropriate accommodations via the following sources of information: the student’s self-report, documentation from qualified professionals of diagnosed disability or disabilities, and disability professional’s observations during conversations and meetings.
Case Managers notify instructors of approved accommodations, coordinate and facilitate auxiliary services, assist with resolution of concerns regarding access, assist with determination of fundamental alteration, and connect students to resources.
