Special reception for our Bexar County delegation
Texas A&M University-San Antonio in conjunction with The Texas A&M University System hosted an Appreciation Reception the evening of September 5 to honor the Bexar County delegation and members of the Texas State Senate and House of Representatives for their commitment and outstanding work during the 83rd legislative session. Elaine Mendoza, member of the Texas A&M Board of Regents, and John Sharp, chancellor of the Texas A&M System, alongside Dr. Ferrier, presented each member with a token of appreciation on behalf of the A&M System. Included in the presentation were Senators Donna Campbell and Leticia Van De Putte, State Representatives Joe Farias, Mike Villarreal and Ruth Jones McClendon. Education graduates advance in area school districts
As the 2013-2014 school year kicks off, the Department of Leadership & Counseling is excited to report that eight Educational Leadership graduates have newly been hired as school administrators. These graduates are: Michael Duffek, assistant principal in Floresville ISD; Erin Burnett, assistant director with Pre-K 4 SA; Phillip Zwicke, assistant principal in Falls City ISD; Jacob DeLeon, assistant principal in San Antonio ISD; Chriselda Bazaldua, vice principal in South San ISD; Nicole Lewis, vice principal in East Central ISD; Jose Garza, vice principal at Harlandale ISD; and Anita Valle, assistant principal in Southside ISD. The educational leadership program at Texas A&M-San Antonio features an innovative instructional model that blends University faculty teaching with practical hands on experience from current school administrators, supporting our graduates on the road to success.
Beginning with a tradition of excellence
In only its first year of existence at Texas A&M-San Antonio, the TAMU-SA Colony of the Omega Delta Phi Fraternity, Inc. has been truly outstanding. At Omega Delta Phi's National Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this summer, the TAMU-SA Colony came home with multiple national recognitions. Founding president Armando Prado will represent one of eight regions through his induction into the elite Knights of the Roundtable for his merit and dedication to his chapter.
