Texas A&M San Antonio Foundation helps dreams become reality
The Texas A&M San Antonio Foundation hosted its annual Dream Maker Luncheon on Wednesday, October 16. Several students participated in the event, which raises funds for scholarships and celebrates the generous supporters of Texas A&M University-San Antonio students. This year's recipients are Texas Secretary of State John Steen, his wife Regent Emerita Weisie Steen, and Peggy and Dan Allen Hughes, Jr. Texas A&M University System Regent Elaine Mendoza served as Mistress of Ceremonies. Past Dream Maker Honorees and Texas A&M San Antonio Executive Advisory Board members, Dr. Carl Raba and Lowry Mays, were also present, as well as Peter J. Holt, son of last year's recipient Peter Holt. Guests included State Senators Donna Campbell and Leticia Van De Putte, State Representatives Philip Cortez, Joe Farias and Jose Menendez and various city and county dignitaries. University staff supporting military community during shutdown

Education students take the stage at conference
A delegation of education professors and students recently presented at the Critical Questions in Education Conference at the Menger Hotel in downtown San Antonio on October 14-15. The professors, Drs. Esther Garza, Annette Gonzalez and Theresa Dorel, teamed up with three students, Thomas Rux, Nan Lechner, and Alejandra Valerio for a joint presentation. Topics ranged from professor evaluations to discussion about the crucial issues in teacher preparation. Congratulations to these delegates for representing the caliber of excellence at A&M-San Antonio.
Fun at Fall Fest
The University invited the community to visit Main Campus and celebrate Fall Fest on Saturday, October 19. There was fun for the entire family, great food, live entertainment and games for everyone. Festivities took place at the Main Campus Front Lawn.
