Lights of Esperanza

Lights of Esperanza EventAn estimated 1,500 attendees witnessed the illumination of more than 30,000 twinkling lights across campus during the Lights of Esperanza event on Tuesday evening. The enchanting annual holiday celebration combined the symbolic history of holiday lighting with newer holiday traditions spiced with an A&M-San Antonio flair. Guests enjoyed a choir performance by University Voices, refreshments, gliding across the skating rink, whizzing down the snow slide and playing in the snow playground. 

During the ceremony, winners of the Student Organization Window Decorating Contest and the Faculty and Staff Door Decoration Contest were announced.

Door Decoration Contest:

  • First place - Science and Math Lab
  • Second place - Testing Center 
  • Third place - Tutoring Center 

Window Decorating Contest:

  • First place - Mexican-American Student Association (MASA)
  • Second place - Guild of Geeks
