A&M-SA and Facebook unveil first-in-Texas cyber security program

A&M-SA announced Aug. 29, 2018, that it has joined the Facebook Cyber Security University Program, making it the first university in Texas to join the program and the ninth in the nation. Facebook representatives and local leaders joined Dr. Matson on campus for a formal announcement and interviews with media. Following the announcement, Facebook engineers also offered cyber security demonstrations for students. 

The program will position A&M-SA as a prominent leader in the cyber security education community and provide students a variety of benefits, such as enhanced curriculum, mentorship opportunities and hands-on training in combating simulated cyber-attacks.
