On Saturday, Nov. 3, 188 Jaguars participated in "Honoring the Ring" ceremonies in the presence of their families and friends. Alumna Tiffany Austin sang the National Anthem; Dr. Melissa Mahan, vice president for Student Affairs, told the legend of the Spirit of the Jaguar; and guest speaker and alumnus, Brian Harrin, delivered an uplifting message to the newest ring recipients. President Matson explained the "tradition" of the ceremony and presented the ring boxes to each student. After receiving their rings, students took photos with family members at the University Seal in the courtyard of the Central Academic Building.
