University Sets Enrollment Records for Fall 2023

University adds academic programs and campus expansion projects to meet demand 

Jaguar MarchSAN ANTONIO — Texas A&M University-San Antonio is proud to announce record-breaking enrollment for the fall 2023 semester. The latest enrollment numbers highlight the University's ongoing growth and commitment to providing students with high-quality education and support services. 

A&M-San Antonio Fall 2023 Enrollment: 

  • Total enrollment: 7,619 students, marking the highest enrollment in A&M-San Antonio's history 
  • Overall enrollment growth: 4% increase since fall 2022 
  • Graduate enrollment growth: 28% increase since fall 2022  

“As one of the fastest-growing universities in the A&M System, we are committed to providing educational opportunities for a growing and diverse student body, including many who are the first in their family to attend college,” said President Salvador Hector Ochoa. “At A&M-San Antonio, the students are truly our north star.”

As A&M-San Antonio’s enrollment continues to increase, the University is developing new academic buildings, student housing, athletic facilities and other student resources. Beyond campus expansion projects, the University is helping make higher education more accessible and affordable for everyone in Texas.

A&M-San Antonio is launching the Jaguar Promise for the 2024-2025 academic year, which will provide full tuition and fee support along with a book stipend each semester to help cover costs after all financial aid and scholarships have been awarded. Building upon the Achiever Promise, the Jaguar Promise casts a wider net to help serve more students, including not just incoming freshmen, but also transfer students and Early College High School graduates.

"Jaguar Promise makes attaining a college degree a reality–with little to no debt," said Brandy McLelland, vice president of enrollment management. “The program is a critical part of our ongoing commitment to help students realize their academic goals and achieve career success.”

In addition, as the University’s graduate enrollment increases, A&M-San Antonio has appointed the first Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Ting Liu, who will lead the overall development and advancement of graduate programs. She will also create a strategic vision for the continued growth of graduate education.  

The University has launched three new programs this fall in addition to six programs launched in fall 2022 to better serve undergraduate and graduate students. 

New Graduate Programs for Fall 2023:

  • Master of Science in Cyber Security
     
  • Master of Science in Psychology 
  • Master of Education in Instructional Leadership

Programs Started in Fall 2022: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry 
  • Bachelor of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis  
  • Bachelor of Science in Human Service
  • Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis 
  • Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice 
  • 11-Month Master of Business Administration
