Office of the Associate Dean

The Office of the Associate Dean works to advance the quality and integrity of academic programs, implementing processes and procedures to support accreditation and credentialing, as well as leading faculty professional development. In addition, the Associate Dean provides leadership and oversight to academic affairs matters, including curriculum proposals and the college curriculum committee, new course and program development utilizing quality design principles, and supporting study abroad programs.

Bio

Dr. Lorrie Webb is the Associate Dean and a Professor of Curriculum & Instruction. She has been at Texas A&M University-San Antonio since 2010, and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Classroom Management, Educational Technology, Teaching & Pedagogy and English/Language Arts Methodology. Prior to coming to TAMU-SA, Dr. Webb was an Assistant Professor at Texas Wesleyan University. She also taught grades Kinder through 8th at public schools in the Waco and Dallas areas and worked in the Department of Curriculum in Richardson ISD.

Dr. Webb earned a Doctorate of Education in Curriculum Instruction degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She also earned a Master of Science in Educational Technology degree from A&M-Commerce. Although beginning her undergraduate work in Texas, Dr. Webb completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Webb has been published in several national and international journals. She contributed a chapter in a book published in 2021. Her main areas of research include technology integration and teacher preparation.

On a personal note, Dr. Webb was born and raised in Texas. Although she has lived in multiple cities across the state, she has always considered San Antonio home, and even graduated from Winston Churchill High School.
